Mrs. Candy (in pink) beside some of her amazing staff!

How many years have you worked with children?

22 years

What brought you to work with children? Have you always wanted to or did it just happen?

I started babysitting at a young age and have always loved working with children!

What are some of your hobbies?

Camping, swimming and spending time with my family.

What is your most treasured accomplishment?

Families know that when they drop their children off, they have no worries, and their kids are loved and safe!

What is your favorite thing about working with children?

The excitement and joy they get when they see Ms. Candy and all the stories told :)

What has been the most significant or memorable moment in your job?

Absolutely love holiday parties with the kiddos.

Do you have any dreams or aspirations you want to share?

I want to continue to be a part of the GLB family and watch many more children grow!

Do you ever feel a little sluggish, unmotivated, or just “off” during the winter months? You’re not alone! The winter blues are real, but the good news is—there are simple ways to lift your mood and brighten your days.Checking in with your emotions can help you stay in control of your mindset and turn things around before they spiral.

Here are some suggestions from our team:

  1. Start your day with intention.

    • Whether it’s reading a devotional, gratitude journaling, or meditating, setting a positive tone in the morning can make all the difference.
  2. Use music to shift your mood.

    • Play your favorite feel-good playlist and share it with a friend. A mini dance party in the kitchen? Yes, please!
  3. Carve out small “fun time” moments.

    • Just 10 minutes of joy can make a big impact! Try:
      • Dancing to your favorite song
      • Working on a puzzle
      • Reading a book
      • Playing with your kids
  4. Move your body in a way that feels good.

    • Whether it's yoga, a brisk walk, or a workout class with a friend, movement releases endorphins—your brain’s natural happiness boost!
  5. Treat yourself (without breaking the bank).

    • A little self-care can go a long way! Some ideas:
      • A new self-tanner or lip gloss
      • A refreshing ice roller
      • A fun nail polish color

There is no right or wrong answer. The ultimate goal is to find something that works for you. You will feel it in your soul when you find it and others will begin to notice as well!
