We would love to introduce Christie Wilkes, our newest Be Well Care Well Coach! We're so excited to have her on board as she helps bring wellness support to educators across the state. Read below to learn more about her!
Who inspires you professionally or personally? And why? The people who inspire me most, both personally and professionally, are children. From a young age, I've always been drawn to their curiosity, resilience, and endless capacity to learn. Watching children discover new skills, overcome challenges, and grow into their unique selves has fueled my passion for working alongside them throughout my career. My own children have been some of my greatest teachers, inspiring me to continue learning, growing, and becoming the best version of myself. They remind me every day that growth is a lifelong journey, and I strive to bring that same perspective into the work I do with every child and family I serve.
What are some of your hobbies? When I'm not working, you'll usually find me planning my next adventure or spending time with my family. We love traveling and making memories in new places, whether it's a weekend getaway or a family vacation. I also enjoy getting creative through crafting with vinyl and painting, and I never pass up an opportunity to spend time outdoors. As a family, we're passionate about sportsβespecially footballβand you'll often find us cheering from the stands or gathered around the TV on game day.
What is your most treasured accomplishment? Without question, my greatest accomplishment is my family. After a season of wondering if we would ever have children, becoming parents was a blessing we never took for granted. Today, my husband and I are the proud parents of two amazing teenagers who inspire us daily. Raising them has been my greatest joy and has taught me invaluable lessons about love, patience, resilience, and the importance of celebrating every milestone. They are, and always will be, my proudest accomplishment.
What do you do to treat yourself? To recharge, I enjoy the simple things that help me relax and reconnectβan occasional spa day, a weekend getaway with friends, and a little retail therapy. Taking time to care for myself helps me return refreshed and ready to give my best to others.
What is one thing you cannot do without? I can't do without my peopleβmy family, my friends, and the little ones who remind me every day why I love what I do. |

Strong relationships between early childhood providers and families are one of the greatest investments we can make in children's overall well-being. When families feel welcomed, heard, and valued, they are more likely to partner with teachers, share important insights about their child, and stay engaged in their child's learning and development. These trusting connections create consistency between home and the classroom, helping children feel safe, supported, and confident as they grow.
At Curricula Concepts, we believe Family Connections are about building authentic partnershipsβnot adding one more task to your day. A warm greeting at drop-off, a quick conversation, sharing a child's success, or inviting families to participate in simple activities can strengthen relationships over time. These small moments help create a culture of belonging that supports the social, emotional, and overall wellness of children, families, and educators alike.
