Educator Spotlight

Anita Milligan
Good Morning Sunshine
Preschool teacher/helper/aide

How many years have you worked in early childhood?
I have worked with children for about 17 years.

What brought you to work with children?
I was just looking for a part-time job and just lucked into Susan and her preschool. I had always been around children being from a big family with lots of nieces and nephews.

What are some of your hobbies?
I have lots of hobbies!  I love to sew, embroidery on an embroidery machine, bake, and decorate cakes and cookies. Enjoy time with my family and grandchildren.

What is your most treasured accomplishment?
I have accomplished raising two children both with a good education and excellent jobs. Another thing that I have accomplished is having our first of many kids to graduate high school with honors and being mentioned in her valedictorian speech. That was an honor for her to remember me after 13 years of school. Also, the 2nd highest in that class was salutatorian and one was honorably mentioned.

What is your favorite thing about your job?
The things I love most about working with children would be some of the most interesting things their little minds can imagine. One of the things that I think about and laugh about is one of the children tell her mom that Ms. Anita taught me that! Which was blowing her nose!  Haha!
