Staff Spotlight

Allison White
Well-Being Coach

Please give a warm welcome to Allison. We are so glad to have her
on our team!

Who inspires you professionally or personally?  And why?
A lot of people, honestly. My Mom, Dad, grandparents, and sister. All have been through so much, sacrificed a lot, and continue to be joyful, hardworking, encouraging, and kind-hearted. My friends and former fellow dietetic interns are all dedicated and determined people. My former director who wears so many hats but will never complain and will always want to help anyone in any way she can.

What are some of your hobbies?
My hobbies include being with family, thrifting, hiking, weight lifting, cuddling my pet cat, Steve, and drinking iced coffee!

What is your most treasured accomplishment?
My most treasured accomplishment would be sticking it out in my combined dietetic internship and master’s program. I lost motivation and experienced burnout many times. Without my support system, though, I probably wouldn’t have stuck it out. I could not have ever made it through without my support system.

What do you do to treat yourself?
I like to treat myself with iced coffee and thrifting!

What is one thing you cannot do without?
I couldn’t do without my family, for sure.

Wellness Corner

Financial Wellness is something that not many people think about as contributing to their overall health but it actually has a huge impact on your health.  It can lower stress, prevent depression and other illnesses caused by high levels of stress.

What is Financial Wellness?

Liz Davidson, CEO and Founder of Financial Finesse, defined a state of financial well-being as one where a person maintains:
  • A manageable level of financial stress;
  • A lifestyle at or below his financial means;
  • A strong financial foundation including adequate emergency savings, no high-interest debt, and a sufficient insurance and estate plan to protect assets, income, and loved ones; and
  • An ongoing plan to achieve future financial goals.
  • A person who is financially well makes good financial decisions, has a higher level of satisfaction with his current financial situation, and a greater level of freedom to pursue life on his own terms.
